Monday Blues

Well folks, I am currently at my job as a teacher’s aide. I am not busy doing much at the moment and I am feeling like writing you to tell you about how our weekend went!

Friday night we had plans to go finish cutting some grass hay, but like normal plans changed. We had some friends come out instead. The boys went out coyote hunting while us girls stayed home and jumped on the trampoline. Saturday we slept in ( I needed it). Tobie worked on the sickle mower and I went and started mowing with the single 9 sickle mower. Mind you I forgot water and sunscreen. So Tobie had to bring me all of the above because I was looking like a mighty lobster! Got the cutting all done and starting raking and baling. About 9:30 it was dark out, the baler blew a bearing. We had to stop, Sunday morning 8 A.M. started calling around looking for a bearing. We decided to just go and stop at some stores and look ourselves. Went to 5 stores and not a 1 had the standard bearing we were looking for. So my husband is a diesel mechanic and he thought we should go check at his work. Even though know one was there to help find the parts. It took us quite awhile but we finally figured out where they were located and bam got our parts! So we grabbed some lunch from town and headed home. Tobie got to work on fixing the baler. I went and did some chicken chores all 6 pens of them, and got started building a grain bin. We bought the grain bin to make into another chicken coop. Mind you it’s not that easy to put up yourself. But me being me I chose to start anyways. I was able to get the whole bottom set of rings on with all the hardware and door mounted. Let me tell you though trying to get the next set of rings up…..NO WAY. I struggled for probably 15 min. trying to lift it into place and get just even 1 bolt and nut put in. I finally gave up and stomped back to the house because it made me angry that I couldn’t do it by myself! Got the baler fixed and back to haying we went. Finished just in time before it decided to rain. I would say we didn’t get a lot accomplished this weekend. But we put up some much needed hay and the week can only get better!
