The Broke Homestead

You know I thought just maybe today will go as planned. Yeah right, it never does! I had planned to come to work, go home, do chores, get set up for all the chicks we ordered that will arrive on Tuesday, and work on the grain bin some more because my best friend Libs was coming out to help. She’s stuck in the chicken business with me! I’ll tell you all about that later! So anyways, my sister has been having some issues with a sick/hurt horse. She struggled all weekend trying to find a vet that would come out and help. Finally, today she was able to get one out and they said that there was no hope in saving the horse because it turned out to be West Nile. She has another horse named Koda; I originally bought her back in like 2018 with a filly on her. My sister took the mare, and I took the colt which I still have. I now need to go pick up Koda for her house because she has never been alone and my sister if filled with all the emotions right now of losing a horse and just doesn’t think she wants horses anymore. So being the good sister I am, right after work I will run home and hook up the trailer and away I go to pick up the horse. Then maybe when I get home and get the horses all acquainted, I can get back to doing a few of the things I wanted to.
